The real joy starts when all the prep, and fine detail surface work is done, and I can move onto painting them to mirror my vision of the mechs.

Building Skills and Artistry

Embarking on your first PG build? This is where the excitement got real for me. While it is an investment, Perfect Grade kits are well-known for their intricate details and challenge. Rushing through assembly can lead to mistakes that can ruin your project. Patience is not just required, but for me, the more detail involved, the more i find I relax and enjoy the process.

Here are a few tips to improve your builds:

• Invest in Quality Tools: A reliable set of nippers, sanding files, and paintbrushes can make a significant difference in your results. I'll share more on what I use later. I hope that others will chime in and share their favourite tools as well.

  
  

• Experiment with Painting: Whether using spray paints for smooth textures or hand brushing for minute details, try various techniques. What you may not think of right of the top, is that lighting is key! Make sure you have a good lighting setup to support your paint and detail work. (This includes surface prep) You'll want to see the imperfections across your surfaces for sanding or filling before you start priming.

As you immerse deeper into Gunpla, custom builds and kit bashing become very appealing. Kit bashing lets you mix parts from different kits, resulting in truly unique designs.
